Katie was born and raised in Ireland; she grew up in the countryside surrounded by animals and nature. She came to Canada on an internship during university and decided this was the place to be. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science honors degree, with the primary focus being biology and zoology, a Diploma in pharmaceutical processing and manufacturing and a Certificate in palliative care. Katie worked for 2 years as a wildlife rehabilitation technician before moving to the companion animal side of the industry. Currently she divides her time between furry pets and less well-groomed wildlife. A believer in life-long learning, she keeps her knowledge current by continuous education programmes in her spare time, along with less strenuous activities such as hiking and wildlife photography.
