Dr. Jagsir Gill

Veterinarian

Dr. Jagsir Gill obtained his D.V.M from College of Veterinary Medicine in India in 2002. After finishing his D.V.M he pursued his Masters degree in Veterinary Surgery at one of the most prestigious veterinary research institutes in India. He managed a successful mixed animal private practice in India for 12 years. Dr. Gill moved to Canada in 2015. Since then, Dr. Gill has worked at a few different small animal veterinary hospitals in Calgary. He is extremely dedicated to his patients and clients. His areas of interest include surgeries and dentistry. He lives in Calgary with his wife and two children. In his spare time Dr. Gill likes to go for walks and enjoys gardening.​


Dr. Manpreet Singh

Veterinarian

Dr. Manpreet Singh has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 16 years in Canada. In 2007 he joined Calgary North Veterinary Hospital as an Emergency Vet. He worked in this busy emergency hospital for 13 years. During this time he gained a lot of experience in managing complex emergency and medical cases.  He earned his D.V.M. in 2002 from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Punjab Agricultural University in India. While practicing as a small animal practitioner in India, he also obtained his research based MVSc degree in Veterinary Science from the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology at the same University. Dr. Singh came to Canada in 2004 as a student to pursue higher education.  He obtained his Masters degree in Immunology from the University of Calgary. He worked on research projects understanding molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation and sepsis. Dr Singh enjoys teaching and was also actively involved with training final year vet students at Calgary North Veterinary Hospital. His area of interest includes emergency medicine and critical care. He also enjoys various aspects of veterinary medicine including dentistry and challenging internal medicine cases. He believes in educating clients and involving them in care of their pets. Dr. Singh is not current taking on new patients.


Dr. Perry (Perwez) Mann

Veterinarian

Dr. Perry is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian passionate about animal care and well-being. Born with a natural affinity for animals, he embarked on a journey to pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian from an early age. After completing 2 years of Bachelor's in Health Sciences at the University of Calgary, Dr. Perry boldly decided to pursue his veterinary education in India. He graduated from Vet school in 2020. After graduation, he returned to Canada and diligently prepared for the rigorous licensing exams. He successfully passed the North American licensing exams in 2021.
Since obtaining his license, Dr. Perry has been an integral part of City Centre Animal Hospital. He has a special interest in Internal Medicine and surgical procedures. 
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Perry finds joy and relaxation in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family, cherishing every moment together.


Dr. Sukhjinder Rehal

Veterinarian

Dr. Rehal is dedicated professional with a distinctive background; he attended the University of Calgary and earned his Bachelor of Science Honours in Neuroscience and shortly after that he pursued his passion of veterinary medicine, spending four more years at UofC Vet School. Dr. Rehal has been making a difference at City Centre Animal Hospital since 2022. His favourite aspect of the job is the opportunity to perform surgeries and dental procedures, ensuring the well-being of your furry friends. At home, he has a beloved 9-year-old German Shepherd-Labrador mix. Dr. Rehal brings a wealth of knowledge and a caring touch to every animal in his care.

Dr. Jaskaran Purba

Veterinarian

Dr. Purba is a graduate of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Saskatchewan, and he joined our team in 2023. He’s extremely passionate about Internal Medicine in the veterinary field. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, hiking in Banff and going for evening jogs. He has the most adorable small dog named Max that never leaves his side. Additionally, Dr. Purba also takes interest in acting and pursues theatre as one of his side hobbies outside of veterinary medicine.

Kat Chaks

Hospital Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician

Kat is originally from Montreal. Born and raised in an anglophone suburb on the island of Montreal. She am fluent in both English and French, and had moved to Calgary in 2014. She graduated from Vanier College in 2013. Kat started her career at a feline only practice in Montreal then turned to emergency medicine out here in Calgary. Emergency was an amazing setting to master a broad spectrum of skills. She is excited to bring her knowledge that she has learned over the years to general practice. Kat is always open to learning new skills. Currently, Kat has two cats; Phrank and Ellanor. Kat is currently on maternity leave with her second child.

Katie

Inventory Manager

Katie was born and raised in Ireland, she grew up in the countryside surrounded by animals and nature. She came to Canada on an internship during university and decided this was the place to be. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science honors degree, with the primary focus being biology and zoology, a Diploma in pharmaceutical processing and manufacturing and a Certificate in palliative care. Katie worked for 2 years as a wildlife rehabilitation technician before moving to the companion animal side of the industry. Currently she divides her time between furry pets and less well groomed wildlife. A believer in life-long learning, she keeps her knowledge current by continuous education programmes in her spare time, along with less strenuous activities such as hiking and wildlife photography.


Jessie

Registered Veterinary Technician

Jessie has been a Registered Veterinary Technologist Since 2002. She has been at City Centre since 2022. She lives with her husband, 3 busy boys and 4 cats. Jessie has a passion for working  with cats and cat behaviour.

Kayleigh

Registered Veterinary Technician

Kayleigh graduated from Sheridan College's Veterinary Technician program in 2019, and has been working as a technician since October 2018.  Her favourite part of the job is using her technical knowledge and skills and applying it to treatments, bloodwork, and cytology's. Kayleigh has two ball pythons at home. In her spare time she likes to read, play video games, crochet, and do nail art.  


Alexus

Receptionist

Born and raised in Calgary, Alexus has had a passion for the animal industry since she was young. After completing the Veterinary Technician Assistant program at Olds College in 2013, she entered the veterinary medicine field in 2014 at VCA Calgary North Animal Hospital, where she would build her skills in animal restraint, proper sterilization, and surgical preparation for the next five years. In October of 2021, Alexus moved from Tech Assistant to Receptionist here at City Centre, and you can now find her greeting you and your furry family members right when you walk in the door! Alexus has thoroughly enjoyed the transition and getting to know our clients and patients on a more personal level. In her spare time you can find Alexus hanging out with her old lady dog, a black lab cross named Mione, and her Grandma on her Grandma's acreage.

 


Nikki

Rescue Coordinator and Receptionist

Nikki was born in Calgary and raised here in Airdrie. She first found her passion for animals as a young child with her personal pets and watching her uncle save the lives of animals as a vet in Calgary. She has been with City Centre since November 2021. She started off as a TA and is now our Rescue Coordinator/Receptionist. On her days off she volunteers at Tails to Tell Animal Rescue where she has volunteered since August 2020, which is one of four rescues she coordinates here at City Centre. She is our clinic crazy cat lady and loves spending time with her four cats Ferris, Seamus, Portland, and Emmett. Her goals are to work in the rescue community helping pets find their forever homes and specialize in feline behavior. 


Tori

Receptionist

Tori was born and raised in Calgary. At home she has an Australian Labradoodle named Theo, and a rabbit named Bun-Bun. She earned her Veterinary Health Care Assistant diploma, where she had the incredible opportunity to help treat livestock and small animals. Tori has had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Singh for many years now as he used to be her next-door neighbour for many years. Tori has been a receptionist here at City Centre Animal Hospital since March 2023. Tori has a passion for helping pets and clients feel comfortable while they are in clinic.

Alisha

Technician Assistant

Alisha lives here in Airdrie with her husband Bruce, four kids, dog Betty, and their two cats, Charli and Alice. She is a tech assistant and has been in the veterinary medicine industry since 2008, where she originally met Dr. Singh at Calgary North Veterinary Hospital. She worked there for 4 years, learning emergency medicine and running the in-hospital laboratory before switching to a general practice in 2013. She loves working with and handling the animals directly, however, sometimes you will  see her up front in reception helping out, especially on Sundays. Alisha also has a lot of training and knowledge in pet food and she absolutely loves talking about nutrition with pet owners and being able to educate pet parents, it's a passion of hers. Alisha recently switched clinics within Airdrie and has been here at City Centre Animal Hospital for 6 months now. She really enjoys the urgent care medicine here and helping with those patients who are not happy to be at the vet clinic. She looks forward to meeting you and all your furry family members when you visit!


Ethan

Technician Assistant

Ethan was born and raised in Calgary, and currently attends the University of Calgary. Ethan aspires to be a Veterinarian once he finishes school, and hopes to get into UofC Vet School. He has two chinchillas named Garfield and Buggs, as well as a Flame Point cat names Gino. Ethan started at City Centre in November 2022, and he has become a strong asset to our team as a TA. You can often find him here on weekends, working in the treatment room with all of the patients. In his free time, Ethan loves botany. He is frequently telling all the staff about his trees and the effects the inconsistent Calgary weather has on them. 


Eman

Technician Assistant

Eman started with us in September 2022 as a receptionist, and recently moved into a role as a TA.  Eman is currently completing her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Calgary and plans to go to vet school after she gets her degree. Her favourite part of the job is patient care, and watching procedures! In her free time, Eman likes to be outside, play music, and spend time with her four dogs Hidalgo, Maya, Luna, and Loki!!

Latisha

Technician Assistant

Latisha has been at City Centre Animal Hospital since July 2021, currently working as a Surgery TA and professional patient snuggler. Her favourite part of her job is patient care, and of course surgery! Latisha has her own fur baby at home named Anika, she is one of the happiest clinic pups we have! Along side Anika, Latisha has a wonderful 5 year old son who she spends her time with outside of work. Some of her favourite activities to do in her free time are camping and paddle boarding. 


Richelle

Technician Assistant

Richelle has been in the vet med industry since 2016; 5 years in reception and the rest of the time as a TA. She has been here at City Centre Animal Hospital sine July 2023. Her favourite part of the job is patient care and the continuous opportunities to learn new skills. Richelle owns 2 cats and a German shepherd. She has a special interest in learning as mush as possible about animal behaviour. 


Olivia

Technician Assistant

Olivia is currently in university getting her bachelors in psychology and is hoping to pursue her RVT after the completion of her degree. She found her passion for animals after working in pet retail, which then lead to volunteering at various animal shelters, and finally to us here at City Centre! Her favourite part of the job is assisting in treatments and seeing patients successfully recover. At home, Olivia has two dogs, Willow and Winnie. Olivia is our baby TA, she just started with us in August! She is learning quick, and we are excited to see her grow into her role here. 


Brittany

Technician Assistant

Brittany was born in Calgary, and has lived in Airdrie for the past 5 years with her partner. She completed her Vet Office Assistant program at Robertson College in 2020. Brittany has her own special need fur baby, Lucy, who she adopted during her schooling in 2020. Lucy is a Shepard Husky cross who frequents our clinic as a visitor (and sometimes as a patient!). Brittany completed a Hospitality Management Degree from SAIT, but with growing up with Schnauzers, guinea pigs, and reptiles, she found a passion for animals and has been working in the vet field in Airdrie for a few years. In her free time, Brittany loves art, gaming, and doing physiotherapy for Lucy. Brittany started with us earlier this year and has been a wonderful addition to the team, bringing lots of positivity, smiles, and cuddles to all patients. 


Jen

Technician Assistant

Jen has always had a huge passion for animals. She grew up working on a farm in Ottawa which gave her many learning opportunities and enriched her love for animals. Growing up and to this day, Jen has always held a special place in her heart for ferrets. Just like a ferret, Jen loves to have fun, constantly learning new things and enjoys bringing positivity into the lives of others. Jen was involved in the Ferret Rescue Society of Ottawa for many years and when she moved to Calgary in 2012 she became the Education Director for the Ferret Rescue & Education Society (FRES). She currently has 3 ferrets and a large beautiful dog that thinks she is a ferret. Jen has been involved in Veterinary Medicine as a Tech Assistant for 2.5 years. She looks forward to her upcoming goal of becoming a Certified Canadian Canine Body Worker in 2024.
